Robin Taylor joined a writing group at the age of forty-two, which led to an interesting journey through the NSW higher education system – HSC, Degree in Creative Arts, and then a Master Degree in Creative Arts at the University of Wollongong. In those years it was the short story that sparked her studies. The following years have involved self-publishing non-fiction, and these years see her preferring the poetry form. In the late 1980’s and early 1990’s a few short stories and poems were published in various anthologies and literary magazines such as School Magazine 1982, Scarp 1987, Southerly 1989, Land Magazine 1988,
Robin is now well into her retirement years and has self-published three books since 2001, with the help of her partner of 27 years, who is a retired graphic designer, botanical artist, and sculptor.
Robin’s poems today give another aspect on how the aged woman can feel, showing that under the lines and wrinkles beats a spirit worth acknowledging
