Kellie is an award-winning travel writer with a deep curiosity for cultures, landscapes and the individual human stories that connect them. She feels most at home with her feet on dirt paths rather than concrete pavements and has deliberately resisted niching, preferring to explore travel through different lenses because neither people nor travel are one-dimensional.
Her first love was poetry, and while her focus has since shifted to travel writing, she also writes personal essays and op-eds for Australian publications. Her travel writing spans family (particularly with tweens, an often-overlooked age group), solo female travel, wellness, luxury stays, multi-generational travel and outdoor adventures.
In 2025, Kellie won the Best Australian Travel Story Under 1,000 Words at the Australian Society of Travel Writers Awards for Excellence for her story on Arkaroola in South Australia's northern Flinders Ranges.
Her work has appeared in leading Australian and international print and digital publications, including The Age, The Sydney Morning Herald, Sunday Life, Explore, Escape, Australian Traveller, International Traveller, Luxury Travel, The New Zealand Herald, Out & About with Kids and Gardening Australia.
Holding a Master of Arts (Writing), and also working in corporate organisation, Kellie brings a background in marketing, communications and brand strategy to her writing, giving her a strong understanding of audience, editorial integrity and the commercial realities of storytelling.
