Katherine Tamiko Arguile

Born and raised in Tokyo, Katherine Tamiko Arguile is an arts journalist and author of mixed Japanese and British descent. A graduate of Cambridge University, she has lived and worked on Kaurna land since migrating from London in 2008. She owns a city coffee shop, writes arts reviews for online news outlet InDaily and her short stories have been performed by Spineless Wonders, been published in Liminal Magazine and in anthologies published by Momaya Press, Midnight Sun Publishing and Glimmer Press. Her debut novel, The Things She Owned, was published by Affirm Press and shortlisted for the 2021 MUD Literary Prize for best debut literary fiction novel by an Australian author. Her debut nonfiction book, Meshi, a personal history of Japanese food, was released by Affirm Press in April 2022.
