Cher Chidzey, a Singaporean, migrated to Australia in 1975. She graduated MSc. from Melbourne University and taught mathematics in TAFE.
She has performed at the Emerging Writers Festival and Writers Forum and as a guest speaker in 2016 at Footscray Community Arts Centre. Her short play Trevor’s Legs was staged at Melbourne Town Hall for Seniors Week in 2016. She has participated as an extra in the short film titled Courage and in a 7 part comedy web series about dance therapy titled Movement.
She was a volunteer at the asylum seekers Maribynong Detention Centre and a tutor at the Carlton Neighbourhood house. Now she is a volunteer kitchen hand at Fareshare, a non profit organization providing food for the homeless.
