The Society was saddened to hear of the recent death of Dorothy Bransgrove.
Dorothy was a talented writer, a gentle and unassuming person with a dry sense of humour. She was a valued member of Brigid’s Well for 10 years and was still entering poems in competitions up until two years ago! Dorothy was approaching her 95th birthday.
Dorothy’s funeral service, held Monday August 1st, was a true celebration of her life. During the service three of Dorothy’s poems were read by her family. She was much loved by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and all those who knew her.
A long time member of SWWV, a friend to many and a trusted mentor, she will be sadly missed.

An epilogue, so fitting for a writer, has been given by long time friend, Phyllis McLeod, and can be read here.
Tributes from members have been collated by Meryl Tobin.
A selection of Dorothy’s poetry, published in Poetry Monash and reprinted with the permission of Lorraine Mcguigan, attached here for your enjoyment.
